TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR 66 TTTS ENDS

An 11 day training workshop for 66 “Train the Trainers” (TTTs) has ended at the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) Dansoman Training School in Accra.
The training workshop which was organized by the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) component of the Public Financial Management Reforms (PFMR) Project, provided hands-on training to the TTTs on the various modules of the IFMIS system. Participants were taken through the PFM cycle, General Ledger, P2P, amongst other system functionalities.

CAG calls on MDAs, MMDAs and other Public Service Institutions to support IGF Implementation on GIFMIS

The Controller and Accountant General (CAG), Ms Grace Francisca Adzroe has asked MDAs, MMDAs and other Public Service institutions to support the Internally Generated Funds (IGF) implementation on GIFMIS to succeed as the project enters its  second phase. She appealed to the various institutions to provide all the necessary support to and cooperate with the technical teams who would come round during the site survey to acquaint themselves of the readiness of the deployment by the institutions.

INTERIM PROGRESS REPORT ON PAYROLL CLEAN-UP PLAN (3rd Qtr)

A.    Background Information

1.      The size of the Government of Ghana’s (GoG) wage bill has increased significantly, particularly after the introduction of the Single Spine Pay Policy in 2010. This increase in the wage bill poses risks on the annual budget and threatens the overall macroeconomic stability of the country. In view of these potential risks and threats, the government in November, 2014 set up an inter-ministerial Committee of Cabinet on payroll with a mandate of monitor payroll reforms to minimize the size of the government’s wage bill.
